a sig is the link that a member can place in their profile. when they post on a forum their sig(link) is left on every post they make.

dofollow is describing the way a  search engine bot or spider (such as googlebot or yahooslurp!) treats the link. dofollow passes the page rank from the page that the link is on to the link that is linked to.

nofollow links do not pass any page rank.

Yeah, these forums can be used for the promotion of your site. They allow it as a tool for the promotion and facilitate it for the visitors also.

PR of those forums is much important. I guess with more sharing and linking these forums might have PR above 1. I found few more forums using big-boards directories. But those forums are highly moderated and don't allow sig links which are spammy.

I think that this list can help a lot to the people who are doing paid posting for someone. The reason behind this is that the dofollow forums allow signature links, which are being used as a tool for promotion of various sites.

That would explain why some of my casual replies get freakish reactions from admins who start screaming about "spamming". if I show upon a forum and write three replies for the year. how can that be spamming?

I thought spam was like 85 replied in one hour.

Yeah, I agree with you. This is not spamming and one should understand that, there is no need to panic about spamming by the admins for such post with a list.
