I heard most website get lot of traffic from social networking sites such as facebook, twitter and orkut.

What your opinion on this? Is there any other way to get traffic?

Yeah you are right, these sites promote adding signatures and this helps in promotion of their websites. They grab attention of the visitors and on their clicks your site is opened.

Yes, social networking websites will help you increase traffic on your site. You can not only get your real friends to visit your site, and get them on the interest of your post or the interest of the site.. but you can also get traffics from strangers who may have a hold of large group connections in these networking sites.

Personally i never got any traffic from digg and delicious. But I do have some traffic from mixx,twitter and propeller. So it depends upon how you submit sites to these networks and how people respond in return.

It also depends on the type of relationship that you develop with the people over there and how you maintain it. You should create some interest among the people over there, about your site and then you should invite them to visit your website atleast once.
